Join us in the RAW Pavilion for a delicious and fun evening as part of our ‘compassion+conversation=community’ event program. Shukri and Abderazzaq aka cookwith2nomads are home cooks who love to share their culture through food. The couples’ cooking is best classified as East African and reflects their Somali heritage and influences from growing up in Kenya and Tanzania. Together they will present an interactive cooking class making the following dishes:· Pilau ya nyama – a Swahili phrase that translates as rice cooked with meat. This dish is cooked all over Somalia, Kenya, and Tanzania.· Pilau ya mboga – vegetarian option of aromatic basmati cooked with mixed vegetables and spices.· Kachumbari – tomato and onion salad.· Yoghurt, mint and chilli sauce. We will then sit down at communal tables and enjoy a delicious feast with a few yummy surprises on the night! This event is bound to sell out so please reserve your space soon. Our thanks to Don from Amalocal Bayside for his generous support in providing produce for this event. This event is proudly supported by the Bayside Council and is subject to relevant Covid safe requirements for density and vaccination.
